FAQ

When will I receive my letter?

SHIPMENTS:  Letters start mailing out in batches mid-late month. If you have signed up after the 15th, letters will be mailed out 3-7 business days after subscribing. Please give the postal service 2 weeks to deliver within the U.S. If you live outside of the U.S., this may take a little bit longer. *Please advise that if you subscribe after the 15th then there is a chance you may not receive your letter until after the 1st of the next month due to the nature of “snail mail”. This usually isn’t the case, but it can happen.

CHARGES:  Everyone will be charged on the 5th of the month. If you subscribe anytime after the 5th of the month, your next charge date will be the 5th of that following month to ensure you do not miss a month. For example, if you subscribed July 3rd, your first charge is the day you subscribe and your next charge date will be August 5th.  If you subscribe July 27th, your first charge is the day you subscribe and your next charge date will still be August 5th.  This is in an effort to ensure everyone receives their letters earlier in the month, and that no one misses out on a letter.  

What if I didn’t receive my letter?

Please wait up to two weeks for the postal service to deliver your letter from the date of your shipment. If you have still have not received it, please contact me and I will be happy to send out another free of charge! For countries outside of the U.S., please give the postal service 3-4 weeks.  If you are in Australia, shipping times take longer there, so please give up to 8 weeks for delivery. Please be advised that if you purchase multiple letters in one order, there is a chance they may not all arrive on the same day.  I do ship them together, but sometimes they get separated during transit.  *The Bundles do take longer to arrive than regular letters. Please give them 4 weeks from your ship date at this time. 

How do I purchase a subscription as a gift for someone else?

You can purchase any of the subscriptions that are labeled "gift" if you do not wish for the subscription to automatically renew.  During checkout, simply enter the recipient's shipping information.  The child's name can be used in the Shipping Name section to make sure the envelope is addressed to them.  

What about emails related to the subscription? 

  • You can simply use their email address when ordering.  However, be advised that this means they will also receive any and all subscription update emails including receipts and shipment details.
  • You can use your own email address during checkout so you can receive an order confirmation receipt.  After ordering, you can email us at info@writingsfromthewild.com to have the email updated to the recipient's email address so they can receive shipment details.
  • ACTIVITY SHEETS: The recipient can subscribe to our email newsletter on the website to make sure they receive the activity sheets and any announcements such as which animal will be featured.

How do I update my address?

If you need to update your mailing address, even if you have updated it in your account, please send us an email.

Once we have received an email informing us of the change in address, we can change it in our system. 

If at the time you have emailed us you did not yet receive an email notification that your order has shipped, please be advised that when you do, that email may not reflect the updated address until the following month's shipping notification email. 

How are the letters shipped?

Letters are mailed via USPS First Class mail using only a postage stamp.  Due to that nature, tracking numbers are not available.  If you order more than 12 letters at a time, please be advised that one or more of your envelopes will have multiple letters inside.  This helps lower your shipping costs. 

How do I access the activity sheet downloads?

When you subscribe, you will receive a confirmation email that will include a password to access the downloads. From there you can download the activity sheets and print as many as you need for your family. This code is NOT the same password used to access your account

**As of June 2023, all monthly activity sheets will be emailed to subscribers. Please make sure you have signed up to our newsletter in order to receive these.

What age group do the letters and activity sheets relate to?

The letters are for kids of all ages! I prefer to leave it up to the parents to decide, since children are all unique. The activity sheets are not guaranteed to fit your child’s level every month. These range from simple coloring pages, to crack the codes, to how to draw the monthly animal. If you prefer to go by an age range, I would say ages 5-11, although I do have kids younger and older who enjoy them.

I live internationally, can I sign up?

Of course! If you live internationally the shipping is $1.55 USD per letter - the cost of a postage stamp.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel a subscription at any time in your Customer Account. If you did not create an account, please contact me and I would be happy to help you.

Can I receive a refund?

Letters: Due to the nature of the items, refunds are not available at this time. If you are unsure if these letters will be a good fit for your child, you can subscribe to a basic monthly subscription for only $7 USD, or a premium monthly sub for $10 USD, to try it out. You can cancel at any time!  **You are responsible for making sure to cancel any subscription you need before it renews.  Once it renews, we cannot cancel the order. 

Please note that we do send out a mass email within the first few days of the month reminding you of the upcoming charge and letting everyone know what the featured animal will be.  Make sure you are signed up for our email newsletter to get that email.

Shirts:  Refunds are not available for these items. If your item arrives damaged, please contact us with photos and we will assess the issue on a case-by-case basis. We will always try to do the best we can to solve any problems!  Returns and/or exchanges are not available.  There is currently a very limited stock, so your item may no longer be available for exchange or return for a different item. Please double check the size and color you need before placing your order. If you have any questions, please contact us!
